It's a fun game through and through, but it's also exactly what it says on the tin, and it revels in it. Evil Wizard offers goofy humor, video game references, and fun combat - and sometimes, that's all that it needs to do.

Evil Wizard, un RPG de acción con humor políticamente poco correcto que te mantiene pegado a la pantalla mientras conversas con el Hechicero Malvado que busca ayuda para recuperar su castillo asediado por unos héroes un poco repelentes. Con una historia bastante cautivadora y una jugabilidad fluida te mantendrá pegado a la pantalla durante mas tiempo del que te crees.

I will admit Evil Wizard did not deliver the best first impression for me. The constant interruption of gameplay to tell some joke got old pretty quickly. I admit I can see a sizable audience loving this humour. When things focused on the gameplay, I was enjoying the flow of the experience. Combat is a fair challenge made more enjoyable by the game’s epic boss battles. It also changes the pace of playing an adventure game without a 2D platformer. It’s a solid experience that will keep you entertained throughout. Some may even call this the Evil Zelda game. Evil Wizard shows it’s good to be bad sometimes.

Evil Wizard is an action RPG that has a dollop of Metroidvania smothered over the top. Going for a fast-paced combat-heavy affair Evil Wizard plays a lot like other games in the series but it then adds in the elements like fire and electricity and with this you get a new stable of attacks and ways to navigate the world. You have a central hub that allows you to plot your own course through the world whilst also displaying all found rubber ducks. It’s a fast-paced enslaught that does delight but it also frustrates with its limited variety and over-the-top humor and in your faces way too many easter eggs and references.

Evil Wizard is a solid Metroidvania title that wants to cast a spell on you with its humor. If it succeeds, you just might find yourself with a new favorite game.
