If simplicity is a fault, the world is bananas. Such splendid absurdity (and color) is focal to the glitter of Sky Racket, a game that combines old with old to create new. Where it falters is whether players are willing to accept that the genre highs of both shoot-'em-ups and block-breakers may not be fully on display here. In theory, mixing two good things should create a better thing, though the harsh reality is that it's never that simple. Still, it does what it can to flourish each end. Benefited by a retro aesthetic and incredible polish, Sky Racket has the makings of an enjoyable couple hours, though anything beyond could be harder to recommend.
