With all that being said, should you play Mullet MadJack? The short answer – YES. The long answer – YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS! All jokes aside, if any of what I said sounds fun to you, give this a shot. Even if you don't like rogue-like games, I think you should give it a shot. I know I'm uniquely in the core of it's core demographic, both aesthetically and gameplay wise, but I think what is here is fun enough for just about anyone.

The combat is lighting fast, the setting engaging, the visuals striking, and the violence plentiful. Mullet MadJack is exactly the type of game that your parents would worry about you getting your hands on as a kid. Or at least I assume so, I didn’t grow up in an era in which Congress was so bored it turned its sights on pixelated blood.

MULLET MADJACK is more than worth your time and money, a perfect culmination of artistic vision.

Mullet MadJack is one of the most atypical, fun, messy, crazy and furious shooters seen in recent times. It's not an FPS for everyone, but if on-screen speed is an addiction, you can't miss it.

Mullet Madjack tiene todo lo bueno de un first person shooter, y de un roguelite, además de inyectar buenas dosis de adrenalina y diversión. Pocas pegas tiene este juego redondo en muchos aspectos, el cual demanda nuestra atención, y sabe meter la estrategia necesaria para variar en cada piso, solo falla en cierta tendencia a la repetición, y la falta de escenarios más amplios donde explayarse, por lo demás, es un juego muy divertido y recomendable.

Una combinación interesante de música synthwave, cultura cyberpunk y lo mejor del anime de los 80 y 90 en un shooter en primera persona ultra frenético. Altamente recomendado si te gustan los juegos de acción con teclado y mouse.

If you’ve ever had thoughts of throwing your phone away or abandoning the internet to its robotic rulers, Mullet MadJack taps into that frustration. The neon nostalgia of a better era is fertile ground for a game that feels like beating a microwave to death with a crowbar.

Awesome. This is Mullet MadJack in a nutshell. It could have easily been just another first-person shooter with a neat visual gimmick, but its developers went above and beyond with a lot of style and a fantastic gameplay loop, which is equally enjoyable in either Easy or Hard difficulties, for completely different reasons. It doesn’t matter if you just want to feel overpowered against an army of robots, or if you’re looking for a challenge: Mullet MadJack delivers in spades. This one is an absolute must-have, and one of the most delightful hidden gems of the year so far.

Mullet Mad Jack is definitely a game to keep an eye on and I am very excited to see what the developers have in store for the future. Till then, keep slaying those robots, save the princess and importantly look damn stylish while doing it.

Mullet Mad Jack is a hyper stylized shooter with a lot under the hood. The simple yet addicting gameplay loop is more than enough to keep players engaged for the long term.

A pleasant surprise for a genre in which everything seemed to be invented. Its proposal becomes more and more addictive, but you have to play it in short doses or you will be exhausted.

Mullet Mad Jack is a blistering, balls-to-the-wall throwback to 90s anime and violent, dystopian sci-fi that marries boomer shooters with speedrunning and roguelike aspirations to form an absolutely intoxicating brew. It's short, and there's not much to keep you invested even with infinite floors to climb, but you'll be having a good fucking time while you're in it.

Sangue, violenza, stile da vendere e azione travolgente, c’è tutto questo e molto altro nella sorpresa MULLET MAD JACK. Ecco un boomer shooter che, obbligandoci a vivere un secondo alla volta, omaggia gli anni d’oro degli anime con contagiosa passione, la stessa che zampilla dai piccoli dettagli difficili da scorgere data la folle velocità del gameplay. Non sarà perfetto e può causare qualche svarione, ma se vi stuzzicano gli FPS roguelite e siete cresciuti con Kenshiro e compagnia bella sicuramente lo apprezzerete. In un panorama affollato come quello degli FPS old school non è facile distinguersi, eppure Jack ci riesce grazie a una personalità e un’acconciatura fuori dal comune. 

Combining elements from Ghostrunner and Bulletstorm in a 90s-anime inspired package, slaying robobillionaires is a blast in Mullet MadJack -- though, it is a bit short. 

Overall, Mullet MadJack delivers an exhilarating gaming experience that keeps its tongue firmly placed in its cheek, which only works to its benefit. Its influence of cyberpunk anime feels more like a foundation for creative homage, as opposed to a straightforward, lazy imitation.

Even though the story is a bit over-the-top, the Mullet Mad Jack’s self-awareness and humor, combined with its addictive and well-crafted gameplay, kept me thoroughly entertained.

Inviting you to be the star of a vintage anime, Mullet Mad Jack is a fast-paced first-person shooter with roguelike elements that's basic at its core but still manages to be captivating — partly because of its impeccable presentation, and partly because it's simply so much fun to play.

Mullet MadJack è un gioco piacevolmente fuori dal tempo, imbevuto dell’estetica cyberpunk degli anime anni ’90 e con un’anima arcade sorretta da meccaniche moderne e – per quanto semplici – estremamente efficaci. Forse è tardi per infilarsi nel solco tracciato da Hotline Miami e dalla mania retrowave esplosa un decennio fa, e il fatto di essere tutto sommato molto facile gli impedirà di imporsi come uno di quei roguelike eterni à la The Binding of Isaac, Hades e Darkest Dungeon, ma la sua forza sta proprio nell’immediatezza.

Mullet MadJack es una experiencia irregular, pero positiva. La intensidad inigualable que ofrece gracias a su límite de tiempo se presta para partidas muy divertidas y emocionantes, pero tal vez sea mala idea jugar mucho tiempo seguido o comenzaremos a notar lo repetitivo que es. A pesar de sus defectos, lo recomendamos mucho a amantes de los FPS vieja escuela y a nostálgicos de la estética anime ciberpunk ochentera.
