A Dream About Parking Lots is a standout piece of interactive art: concise, beautifully written, and emotionally precise. It’s an essential play for anyone interested in how games can explore interiority and creative block, provided you’re comfortable with a short, deliberately spare experience and minor technical rough spots. A Dream About Parking Lots isn’t the most gameplay-heavy experience, but that’s only because it doesn’t need to be. Its story doesn’t need to be bogged down by intricate systems to learn, as that would take focus away from the true star of the game, its narrative. Feeling lost is a sensation that can be hard to put into words, but Interactive Dreams have found a way to bring this emotion to life in a way I’ve seldom seen in games. It’s an experience I can definitely recommend, even if it’ll take me a while to completely make sense of it all, if that’ll even happen. Sometimes it’s best to have experienced rather than to have understood. Read review

A Dream About Parking Lots is an interesting little experience that uses a real life situation many of us would have found ourselves in, and uses it to create a therapy session. It is a short and succinct experience that has quite a lot of depth to it, though it isn't the best looking title. Read review

A short, unique first-person experience that blends surreal parking-lot searches with a therapist narrative. Read review

While A Dream About Parking Lots is short on runtime and light on visual flair, it carves out a unique space in the gaming landscape. Wandering through parking lots might sound dull on paper, but the ongoing conversations with your therapist adds a layer of introspection that elevates the experience. It might even have you Googling, why do I keep dreaming about parking lots? Read review

A Dream About Parking Lots is a truly unique game that is one of the shortest experiences I’ve played, one that you can finish in under an hour. I can’t describe this as a video game if I’m honest, it is more of an interactive process of thought with minimal gameplay. That said, I admire that the development team at Interactive Dreams has pushed out something that is a little out of the ordinary in the gaming space. At just £4.19, it isn’t going to break the bank, and if you fancy a casual walking sim that brings thoughts and feelings lost to the forefront, then it may be worth having a short blast with this. Odd without question, and perhaps it could be considered thoughtful? An odd mix of maze-like walking and some therapy Read review

The interactivity tied to the conversations act more like you talking to a virtual shrink than anything else, but it doesn’t feel like an essential part of what makes the game unique. A Dream About Parking Lots would have been a much more interesting experience if it were a first-person short movie about the author’s dreams and perceptions of reality. Read review

Read review
