A delightful refreshing new story for a cosy sim blends with an extremely creative puzzler in Lonesome Village, which features a cute art style and relaxing vibes throughout. With a few patches to address crashing, it could be among the best in the genre. Even with these issues though, the game gets my recommendation with a caveat to save often so you don’t lose your progress.

We wouldn’t go so far to say that Lonesome Village is sensational, or better than the other life-sims that have graced the Xbox over the past year. We’d nudge you over to Ooblets and Disney Dreamlight Valley, if placed in a line-up. But there is certainly something compelling in the simplicity of its loops, and there’s not an ounce of combat or pressure as you enjoy the merry-go-round. This is one for life-sim fans who would rather that things like difficulty didn’t bother them.

Buenos puzles, pero no son suficientes para hacer que el juego brille totalmente. Una gestión sencilla y colorida sabe acompañar bien, pero no consigue ofrecer la misma calidad que su otra vertiente.

Lonesome Village takes elements of life-sim legends and a large handful of Zelda references and wraps them together in very cute packaging. It may not have the richest narrative, but it will absorb and soothe you – even in its short playtime. Barring a few drawbacks with player experience, specifically around menu navigation, this game offers up some good wholesome fun without the sweaty button-mashing of combat. If you’re puzzling over a new cosy game to play, Lonesome Village just might be your solution.

The people of Lonesome have vanished and a mysterious tower has risen from the ground, bringing with it secrets of a long buried village now disturbed. Puzzle-filled dungeon delving and cute social life simulation merge in this cute, no-combat adventure game. Take on the role of Wes the coyote and help bring this village back from the brink of destruction.

Lonesome Village is an enjoyable game to play, but it is not without flaw. I think the team set out with a goal, and wanted to make sure that anyone who picked up the game would experience all it had to offer. As a result, it lost some of what makes a life-simulator unique in exchange for not allowing players to miss the things they worked hard on. At the end of the day, Lonesome Village is a puzzle game and not entirely much else. If you’re looking for what essentially is a Legend of Zelda game without combat, I recommend you give Lonesome Village a try. However, if you’ve run Stardew Valley dry and you’re looking for something similar, you’re unfortunately out of luck here.
