If you loved Horizon Chase, you’ll love Horizon Chase 2. If you’ve never played the first game, you can easily jump in with this sequel and have a great time. It’s in some ways an expected sequel, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that when there was so little to complain about in the first game. I had actually let my Apple Arcade subscription lapse, but I signed right back up again for Horizon Chase 2. It did not let me down. Now all we need is to get the online population a little more active. Hopefully that’s an issue that will solve itself with time.

Horizon Chase 2 is definitely a must-play. It’s the best arcade racer since… well… its predecessor. It’s easy to pick up and play and can be hard to put down. Lots of content to unlock whether it be new rides or visuals styles. Whenever you need a change from racing sims or looking to give the racing genre a shot, Horizon Chase 2 is your best bet. Don’t miss out.

Habiendo probado muchísimos títulos de carreras para la Nintendo Switch, puedo decir con confianza que “Horizon Chase 2” es de lo mejor que pueden conseguir para la consola. Mezclando gameplay tipo Arcade con una sensación rápida y furiosa, una buena variedad de pistas, modos de juego para una sola persona o varias, leaderboards, y controles que responden increíblemente bien, el juego se torna rápidamente en una experiencia adictiva y fácil de aprender. No es fácil, pero tampoco es frustrante —llega a estar en ese punto medio que muchas otras propuestas no llegan a alcanzar. Considérenme, pues, como fanático de “Horizon Chase 2”; un fanático que, igual, está consciente de que el juego cuenta con ciertos (y pequeños) defectos que deberían ser corregidos con un parche o dos.

Si no está roto no lo arregles, es lo que deben haber pensado en las oficinas de Aquiris Game Studio. Nuevos vehículos, nuevos circuitos, cambios mínimos siendo lo más destacable la omisión de la gestión del combustible y el lavado de cara visual, y toda la diversión y sensación arcade que ya nos ofrecieron con el primero. Horizon Chase 2 no te va a sorprender, pero si te gustó el primero es una apuesta segura.

En definitiva, Horizon Chase 2 vuelve a demostrar que esta fórmula inspirada en los antiguos juegos de conducción funciona perfectamente a día de hoy y, con ello, Horizon Chase ha vuelto a la carga con una segunda entrega que está más que recomendada para aquellos que sean ya unos veteranos en los videojuegos o para aquellos que busquen un juego de carreras sencillo y divertido. Ojalá más gente se anime a probar su multijugador online en las próximas semanas y esperemos que Aquiris vuelva a sorprender con nuevos contenidos y expansiones de la misma manera que en Horizon Chase Turbo. Aunque es posible que tenga que pasar un tiempo, es muy probable que Horizon Chase 2 aterrice en el resto de consolas en el futuro.

Ultimately there is nothing mind-blowing about Horizon Chase 2, but there also really isn't anything negative either. The only drawback is that there isn't more of it, as the game is pretty quick to complete at roughly eight hours for the entire World Tour unless played on high difficulties that make it harder to progress. Horizon Chase 2 simply feels like a fun game that is perfect at giving a nostalgic feel of a 90s arcade racer, but with much better graphics to smooth it out.

Horizon Chase 2 is still capable of delivering many adrenaline fuelled moments. It’s about as fast as you’ll likely be able to handle, it looks the bomb and delivers on pretty much all the necessary arcade racing fronts. With a host of tracks, challenges and more all contributing to something that is highly replayable, if you’re a bit of an arcade petrolhead, this is one to get behind the wheel of pronto.

Horizon Chase 2 is a phenomenal package for arcade racing game fans. It makes great improvements over the original game, both in visuals and in gameplay. This feels like the definitive arcade racing experience for anyone that is interested in chasing high scores, playing a game with friends, or just enjoying a race or two to unwind. This is easily a game that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the genre.

Horizon Chase 2 is, in its most distilled form, the perfect modern arcade racer. Its mechanics are scaled back but refined, the drop-in/drop-out multiplayer works well and never fails to excite, and the game has just enough customization to make every racer feel at home behind the wheel. While I’d love to see some more cheeky references thrown in to add to the fun and the game could certainly benefit from some DLC tracks down the road, it’s nevertheless filled to the brim with a charm and a love-letter to classic coin-op racers that’ll keep fans coming back for a long while. If arcades were still around and prevalent, Horizon Chase 2 would be my cabinet of choice any day of the week.

Horizon Chase 2 is a fantastically fast, fun, and frenetic old-school arcade racer; improving on the original game in almost every way. With its budget price and great multiplayer options, this is an absolute must for those who like their racers stuck firmly in the 1990s.

Horizon Chase 2 no inventa nada que no se haya visto con antelación pero tampoco lo intenta y ¿sabes qué? Está muy bien. La producción toma una fórmula clásica y le añade los elementos modernos necesarios para que se sienta muy bien en esta era y que el jugador disfrute del recorrido de su coche desde el momento de la largada hasta el instante que cruza la meta y lo que es mejor, hace que quiera volver a jugar de inmediato.

Continuista pero con todo lo positivo que esto conlleva, Horizon Chase 2 mejora en muchos aspectos a lo ya visto en el anterior título y pese a su limitado contenido por el momento, ofrece muchas horas de adictiva y frenética diversión 100% asegurada. 

This is the best kind of sequel. Horizon Chase 2 is the kind of game that makes its predecessor look and feel obsolete in comparison, with vastly better graphics, AI, tracks, and controls. It might not exactly have a lot of cars for you to choose, but there is still so much content in here that complaining about it almost feels like an annoying nitpick. Aquiris has clearly managed to outdo themselves, with this game being one of the best retro-styled racers available in any console or PC right now.

Horizon Chase 2 no rompe moldes como hizo su antecesor, pero mejora en modos de juego a pesar de perder frescura e identidad en su arte. De todas formas estamos hablando de uno de los mejores arcades de conducción que ahora mismo puedes jugar en consolas y hacerlo en una Xbox o PS5 en una gran pantalla, es un espectáculo que no deberías perderte si eres fan del género.

Horizon Chase 2 è un racer arcade velocissimo, colorato, vivace e divertente pur nella sua assoluta semplicità. Non è un caso che il riferimento principale della serie sia il classico Out Run, ma il titolo di Aquiris Game Studio riesce a esprimere il proprio carattere e conquista subito grazie all'immediatezza delle meccaniche, che tuttavia rendono al meglio utilizzando un controller Bluetooth anziché i comandi touch, privi di regolazioni. La formula appare fondamentalmente invariata, ma tutto ciò che la circonda risulta arricchito, migliorato e potenziato: esattamente ciò che ci si aspetta da un sequel.

Horizon Chase 2 is quick to jump into, and while it might not be packed with content, it's a ton of fun to play.

Repetitivo y machacón como una buena canción de música electrónica, Horizon Chase 2 ofrece una experiencia arcade clásica. Como ya hiciera su predecesor, encapsula la nostalgia de las recreativas y la adapta y mejora para nuevos dispositivos. Un arcade de carreras directo, bonito, divertido y simple.

If you liked Horizon Chase Turbo as much as us, then this speedy sequel is an easy recommendation. We'd have liked a bit more meat on Horizon Chase 2's bones, but what's here is undeniably fantastic fun, and we've loved experiencing the series' sense of arcade racing wonder once again. The graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is slick and satisfying, and despite a relatively short runtime you just can't go wrong with this one. Horizon Chase 2 is a virtual world tour that's well worth heading out on.

Horizon Chase 2 is an outstanding arcade racing game. Although it has only 10 cars, it brings customization options, over 80 tracks, a captivating art style, and improves upon virtually everything else compared to its predecessor.

You could argue that Horizon Chase 2 plays things safe, but when what’s on offer is this much fun, does it really matter? Developer Aquiris may have stuck to its tried and tested formula, but with a bold new visual style and improved gameplay across the board, there’s enough here to make the experience feel fresh. And whether you like to race alone against the CPU or online against others, there’s something for you here. For arcade racing game fans eager for something new to test their skills with, this is very highly recommended.

Horizon Chase 2 is an excellent follow-up to Horizon Chase Turbo, offering a wide plethora of stages to race across and sights to see. I found enjoyment in modes I typically get frustrated in, with Time Trials specifically pulling me back for more each day. If you're a fan of arcade racers, Horizon Chase 2 is a great time I recommend trying out.

The console version of Horizon Chase 2 kept us waiting, but after spending a significant number of hours with it (which will surely increase), I can confirm it was well worth the wait. Aside from some minor general simplifications, Aquiris' new work expands and improves on its predecessor's solid foundations, delivering a highly enjoyable and long-lasting arcade racing game. The single-player campaign is satisfying and substantial, complemented by a multiplayer component that now goes beyond local play, finally embracing online gaming. With a good car selection and impactful technical execution, Horizon Chase 2 is a must-play for arcade racing fans.

Horizon Chase 2 is a great game, but it's quite the masterpiece that its predecessor was. That said, this is a no brainer if you loved the arcade racing goodness of Horizon Chase Turbo, because that part, at least, has not been modified in this sequel.

Epic Games Brasil nos presenta Horizon Chase 2, un juego de carreras arcade muy divertido y accesible que mantiene parte de la esencia jugable que hizo famosa a la primera entrega por homenajear a los clásicos Top Gear, Lotus Turbo Challenge y Outrun. Con un cambio en el apartado gráfico que lo hace mucho más llamativo y actual, dejando atrás el estilo retro de los 16 bits para adoptar un diseño más cartoon, e incluyendo ciclos de día y noche, lluvias y tormentas de arena. Cuenta con un acabado sonoro excelente del conocido compositor Barry Leitch y una jugabilidad muy divertida, con un control excelente y multijugador crossplay gracias a Epic Online Services. En definitiva, Horizon Chase 2 es un título al que debes darle una oportunidad si te gustan los juegos de carreras arcade clásicos o disfrutaste de la primera entrega.

Horizon Chase 2 is a solid sequel that adds some new pieces that make it a worthy sequel. I do wish the track design was a little better and the upgrades worked across all cars instead of having to dedicate it to the one I am driving. Still there is a lot to love here, the soundtrack, the speed, and the pure arcade excitement. If you have any reverence for games from the arcade era, this is a no-brainer. Definitely worth checking out.

Horizon Chase 2 brings more of the same very fun, even more so when we share the screen with more people. Wrapped in the infectious electronic musical score, the frenetic races have gains in the relationship between control and speed and the beautiful stylized representation of real locations, but also presents losses in the number of tracks and cars in its modest Round the World Round.

Nuestra experiencia con Horizon Chase 2 en Nintendo Switch fue agridulce. La pasamos genial con su modo para un jugador, disfrutamos las carreras en línea y su música es excelente. Pero también extrañamos el estilo visual y sistema de consumo de gasolina de su anterior juego. El pésimo rendimiento del modo multijugador a pantalla partida es inexcusable y puede arruinar la experiencia para aquellos que compraron el juego para disfrutarlo con alguien en casa. Realmente esperamos que parchen esto pronto. En general, este es un gran juego de carreras estilo 'arcade', pero no va a reemplazar a Horizon Chase Turbo en nuestros corazones.

Si algo nos ha encantado de Horizon Chase 2 es la sensación de velocidad, sobre todo en la Gira Mundial cuando nuestro vehículo está mejorado al máximo. Pero no podemos obviar la falta de algún modo adicional o que se hayan quedado algunas cosas sin pulir como la traducción. Pero si os gustó el anterior, este ofrece la misma diversión.

Horizon Chase 2 sigue el rebufo de la entrega anterior con la novedad principal de su juego en línea, pero estropea la experiencia local con amigos por un rendimiento muy mejorable. Sigue ofreciendo una gran cantidad de contenido aunque es demasiado bondadoso con el jugador con un nivel de reto mucho menor. Con todo, continúa firme en su apuesta por la diversión directa, sin complicaciones, ideal para esos pequeños ratos muertos del día a día y sigue siendo un claro referente en los arcades de conducción retro.

Outside of the core campaign, there’s online multiplayer with full crossplay, which should help to ensure matchmaking remains snappy across a prospectively small install base. Rotating challenges also offer new gameplay wrinkles and modifiers to keep things fresh in a very basic live service fashion, with cosmetic unlocks like paint and leaderboards available to keep you engaged. Ultimately, the game won’t hold your attention for too long, but you’ll be smiling plenty while it lasts.

Horizon Chase 2 is a fast-paced arcade racer that perfectly captures the vibe of the retro arcade racing games of the 90s. Horizon Chase 2 offers us a modernised version of the old classics and captivates with its fast-paced gameplay. However, with a playing time of just under 15 hours, you have already seen everything and the game only offers the necessary variety in the online races. Horizon Chase 2 makes a solid impression and is thoroughly convincing, although we would have liked a little more story input and more freedom when tuning our car.

Un esperado regreso parcialmente eclipsado por un rendimiento pobre en Nintendo Switch y una falta de contenido que sorprenderá a los fans del anterior título; por muy realmente bonitos que sean sus nuevas pistas. Por suerte, no es nada que no pueda arreglar unos cuantos parches pues el juego tiene potencial para no solo llegar, sino superar a su antecesor.

Horizon Chase 2 es un juego que te retrae al pasado. A ese momento en el que echabas monedas en las recreativas y disfrutabas de las diferentes carreras disponibles. Eso sí, si lo que buscas es un juego más apegado a lo que vemos en la actualidad, puede que este no sea la mejor opción. Por lo demás, es una obra de arte de los juegos arcade.

A pesar de tener 2 años a sus espaldas y ni intentar aprovechar el potencial de PS5, Horizon Chase 2 es un arcade entretenido que te puede mantener pegado a los mandos de tu consola durante un par de tardes tontas en las que no quieras darle demasiadas vueltas al coco y sí sacarte unos cuantos logros mientras le das a algo que no requiere 5 horas de tutoriales. 

Good track design and a blistering sense of speed are not enough to compensate for relatively mindless racing. Horizon Chase 2 serves as an ode to arcade racing classics that reminds us just how far the genre has come.

Horizon Chase 2 isn't going to set the world on fire. No matter how fun it is to fly across the highway at blazing speed, no amount of speed can disguise the fairly limited breadth of content available. In fact, that speed only makes courses blur together even more. Ultimately, you're left with a fun but shallow arcade racer that feels disappointingly shaky on Switch.
