To close out this Gaucho and the Grassland review, I’ll say this: it’s a love story. To land, to culture, to kindness. It’s one of those rare games that feels made with care, where every mechanic supports the theme. It might not be for players looking for fast-paced farming or tight controls, but for anyone who wants to slow down and feel something, it’s a gift. I feel like anyone who enjoys cosy games will want to pick this one up.

La historia bebe mucho de la cultura de los Gaucho y se ve que han querido hacer un bonito homenaje a ella, falta por pulir algunos aspectos técnicos en su mayoría pero seguro que disfrutaréis de recorrer las tierras como un buen Gaucho a lomos de su caballo y vivir aventuras.

Gaucho and the Grassland is a refreshing idea, adding adventure and cultural history to a game genre that can always use more diversity. But as it pulls up towards release, it’s still in a bit of a rough state, with game-locking bugs and some confusion left as to how to accomplish some of your many goals. The developers appear consistently active at working on the game, posting fairly frequent updates about what they’re working on. They’re not very responsive to Steam users, preferring Discord, so bear that in mind.

Gaucho and the Grassland is a lovely little farming sim that is just the right level of accessibility and cosiness to chill for a few hours at a time. Though the game isn’t never-ending, there’s a fair amount to unlock and discover in it, and it’s not always obvious what you need to do, therefore encouraging a fair share of curiosity, and ultimately, an excuse for exploring.
